Nikasha Tawadey interpreted traditional Indian silhouette in contemporary styles with her collection “Raat Ki Rani” at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2013. The designs consisted of contemporary styles with sharara jumpsuits, choli tanks, dhoti skirts and Patiala pants.
She used fabrics such as silk, organza, hand-woven tissue, chanderi, brocade and velvets in bright colours like rani pink, sindoori red, emerald green and midnight blue to create the outfits. Interestingly Nikasha introduced her version of the three-piece suit with a waist coat, a fitted shirt and a dhoti-inspired skirt. It didn’t really excite us and we felt more drawn to other designs particularly the wide shimmer pants with coral hem.
